10 things you can do on Snapchat (but you probably didn’t know)

Snap and chat, but explore ‘Settings’ too!

Take embarrassing snaps of your buddies, spam the rest with it, but if you think your work ends there- prepare to discover the undiscovered. StyleCracker indulged in some Snapchat digging and came across features we never knew existed. 15 snapchat secrets you (probably) didn’t know about!

Change colours of individual alphabets.

Step 1: Click a snap and type in some text (For ex, lazing around today).

Step 2: Click on T and reach the maximum size of the text.

Step 3: Tap and hold on to the text and wait till the ‘Select’ function comes in. Click on ‘Select’.

Step 4: Select the alphabet you want to change the colour of. One selected, choose your desired preferred option from the colour pallette!

Step 5: Repeat for other alphabets too.

Get black and white on the colour palette.

Step 1: Click a snap and tap the colour palette function on the top right corner.

Step 2: To get the colour white- tap the colour palette and while holding, drag your finger to the top-left corner of the screen.

Step 3: To achieve the colour black- tap the colour palette and while holding, drag your finger to the extreme bottom of your screen.

Enable ‘Travel Mode’ to save mobile data and battery on your phone.

Step 1: On the Snapchat App, click on the white ‘Ghost’ icon.

Step 2: Now go to ‘Settings’, by tapping the geared icon.

Step 3: In ‘Additional Services’, click on ‘Manage’.

Step 4: Now simply enable ‘Travel Mode’.

Customise your friend’s emojis.

Step 1: Open the Snapchat App and tap the ‘Ghost icon on top.

Step 2: Go to ‘Settings’ > Additional Services.

Step 3: Click on ‘Friend Emojis’ and customise away! Your BFFS, new snapchat friends and so on can now have your favourite emojis.

Change Snapchat names of your friends.

Step 1: Click on the ‘Ghost’ icon on the Snapchat screen.

Step 2: Go to ‘My Friends’. Tap and hold on to a friend’s name.

Step 3: A pop-up will appear. Click on the friend’s name once again, until an editing screen appears.

Step 4: Type in the revised name and save!

Take a screenshot (without the person knowing).

Step 1: Load the snap but don’t open it yet.

Step 2: Switch your phone to airplane mode, which will disable any signals going to and fro.

Step 3: Now open the Snapchat App again, open the snap you had loaded and take a secret screenshot!

Add more text.

Step 1: Open ‘Notes’ on your iPhone and enter a few lines of blank space.

Step 2: Select the entire blank space and copy it.

Step 3: Paste the same into the textbox of the snap you’ve just taken.

Step 4: Now type more than you could imagine!

Zoom in and out with one finger.

Step 1: Tap and hold the recording icon to start recording a video.

Step 2: While recording, move your finger up or down to zoom in/out in the video.

Add friends who are nearby.

Step 1: Click on the ‘Ghost’ icon on the Snapchat screen.

Step 2: Click on ‘Add friends’.

Step 3: Select ‘Add nearby’ and add away.

Use three filters, all at once.

Step 1: Take a snap and swipe left to add your favourite filter.

Step 2: Now hold your thumb anywhere on the screen and use the rest of your fingers to freely choose another filter.

Step 3: Once you’ve used the second filter, take off your thumb from the screen for a second, before tapping and holding again and then once again swiping left to choose the third filter.

Get snapping now!
