With Women’s day just around the corner, what better a way to commemorate girl power than by looking back on the women who’ve suited up and made borrowed-from-the-boys- fashion, look so effortlessly chic!
1. Bianca Jagger
One of the first women to own this androgynous ensemble was Bianca Jagger; after all Yves Saint Laurent pioneered this look for women in the 60’s with his iconic Le Smoking suit – she’s certainly got those moves like jagger!
2. Emma Watson
We noticed the power of these solid-color coordinated separates when we spotted them on our dearest Hermione Granger, who truly knows how to rock a suit or two.
3. Shraddha Kapoor

Having previously opted for evening gowns for red carpet events – often stealing the show in the process, we saw our very own Shraddha own the androgynous look at an award ceremony recently. We love how she’s styled her coiff’ with much boyish charm.
4. Victoria Beckham
When it comes to structured attire, stepping out in a simple suit is certainly a sartorial staple – proving that on point is reigning posh queen and designer extraordinaire, Victoria Beckham. Style comes so naturally to some!
5. Gigi Hadid
If boring black and white separates are not your speed, this refreshed look, is as fashion-forward as it gets. As seen here, teamed with a lacy bra by the model-du-jour, Gigi.
6. Kangana Ranaut

Whether girly or gothic, punk or grunge – this fashion icon is known to have experimented with more than a few styles at the red carpet, end result, she nails it every time! Seen here, working the suit in different styles and colors, we love how Kangana pulls it off with an easy flair.
7. Meryl Steep
Queen of cinema, style and our hearts – Meryl Streep was seen working this tuxedo jacket over a fluid floor-length skirt at the Oscar’s ceremony this year. If a pant-suit combination makes you cringe, add a feminine yet elegant touch with a floor length skirt or gown in muted neutrals.
8. Sonam Kapoor
Our resident fashion icon, Sonam Kapoor, takes the suit up a notch by working it in different styles. Dare to wear the suit to dinner or out on the town, either way, you will never have to worry about being ignored.
9. Cara Delevingne
Whether it’s a plunging neckline or a playfully androgynous look, bold brows and silliness aren’t the only things that come naturally to the British dame Cara. A bold choice nonetheless, the velvet blue suit works due to the dearth of accessories and overall un-fussy approach.
10. Diane Kruger, Eva Longoria and Rita Ora
Three words – short-suit-up! Because ten weren’t enough, these three fashion icons share the stage for their gamine yet daring take on the suit. If you’re anything like these leggy beauties, don’t be afraid to take this trend on a spin.
