SC Inside Out | 5 Holidays To Take Right After Lockdown

It’s been over two months since we have all been in lockdown. In the initial few weeks, I was reminiscing about trips I had taken with my family and friends in the past – sipping bubbly on the pristine beaches of Bali with my sister, hiking the Wineglass Bay in Tasmania with friends or the many summer picnics at Prospect Park in New York. Now two months in, I can only dream of holidays to come. Taking a trip abroad doesn’t seem feasible for the near future and staying close to home is the safest option. With the uncertainty that has plagued the aviation and tourism industry, the mantra for the coming few months, if not years, has to be to support local businesses.

The same applies for travel – this is the year to explore India! And when I think of travelling in India and staying luxuriously, Lohono Stays by Isprava is the first name that comes to mind. With beautifully curated and managed villas across Goa, Alibaug, Lonavala and Coonoor, Lohono Stays is the perfect choice for the discerning traveller. The Lohono Stays experience is all about savouring local luxury with opulent homes and meaningful experiences.

Here are 5 Lohono Stays properties I can’t wait to visit post lockdown (and conveniently, most are just a hop, skip, jump away from Mumbai).

Villa Magnolia, Alibaug

Immerse yourself in lush greenery, vintage opulence and quiet serenity. Villa Magnolia in Alibaug, is most likely where I will be spending my first post lockdown holiday. This luxurious, sprawling 2-story villa, with 5 bedrooms, a pool and a 24/7 help desk, is the perfect post lockdown getaway. I can imagine my stress melting away as I read on the lazy patio swing, surrounded by flowering trees and beautiful views.

Villa Verite, Alibaug

Just 15 mins from the Mandwa Jetty is Villa Vérité. Spacious, green and less than an hour away from Mumbai, this stunning multi-story mansion has a pool, a magnificent gazebo and mountain views.  With 5 impeccably done up bedrooms, a table-tennis table, small balconies for stargazing and lush open spaces, I am already planning an unforgettable holiday with all my close friends.

Wildberry Woodhouse, Lonavala

Inspired by a tree house, Wildberry’s Wooden Villa is made entirely of teakwood, that provides it with a romantic old world charm. Located in Malavli, this secluded part of Lonavala offers dramatic mountain views, whilst still being a short driving distance away from Lonavala hotspots like Sunny Da Dhaba – for those butter chicken cravings and Visapur Fort, to burn those Dhaba calories with a scenic trek. Also, the house itself is absolutely charming with its wooden ceilings, pastel-toned linen on four-poster beds and patterned ceramic plates adorning the walls.

Igreha Vaddo | Villa A, Goa

Like me, are you also dreaming of the beach? Lohono Stays has over 15 Luxury Villas to rent in Goa and I can’t wait to get away with my two besties to Igreha Vaddo – Villa A, in Siolim, Goa. I instantly fell in love with this villa’s breezy, creamy – sun-kissed charm. With a cute outdoor bar area, a living room that opens right up to the pool and the oh-so-stunning interiors, a USP of Lohono stays, the villa is right out of my dreams!

Villa Vivre, Goa

If you are looking for something bigger to go with the whole family, then look no further than Villa Vivre. Just minutes away from the main road, in a quiet nook in Assagao (one of North Goa’s most coveted areas), this beautiful villa is the perfect getaway for the entire family. The large exquisitely done up dinning and sitting area and the alfresco dining setup on the terrace is perfect for family meals and game nights. While I am certain my baby nephews and nieces will spend hours on the banyan tree swing, I can’t wait to float in that lovely pool.

So, um…when can we book?

Check out and start planning!
