5 ways to make your outfits look more expensive

We’re constantly gazing at street style stars and their sartorial choices wondering how they manage to look expensive every time. Well, don’t start staring at your wallet in a worrisome manner just yet – we’ve got a few hacks that will help you look the part and won’t break the bank!

1. Serve up a deconstructed attire

Pair prim, simple staples with structured clothing – a notched crop top with pleated pallazo pants, a tank top with fold-over trousers, you get the picture?!

When we add silhouettes with a dash of futuristic drama, it gives those on-lookers something more to gaze at.

2. Open your treasure trunk

While it’s no secret that a string of pearls can do just about a lot to give the simplest outfit a dash of class – we prefer saving this piece of jewellery for days when we’d like to look a little mature yet demure.3256038_FCcreamNYFWLB

Store those pearls for a rainy day and opt for statement jewellery that more than meets the eye. Think cool metallic hues in the form of cuffs, neckpieces, rings and the works!

3. Palate cleanser

This wouldn’t be the first time we’re teaching a lesson in the magic of monochrome minimalism. Just in case you haven’t been paying attention to its surprisingly powerful benefits – here we go again!

An all-white outfit always feels chic and classy! Try it out with your favorite white button-downs, paired with trousers or jeans, all mixed and matched together – heck, why not add a little drama with a shoulder grazing blazer as well?!

4. Not-your-basic neutral

We’ve figured the reason why those Burberry trench coats always look so classy and covetable – they’re all camel coloured!

There’s something about this classic neutral shade brings a luxe, well-made feel to any piece, no matter the price point. The added bonus? It meshes well with nearly every other color. We highly recommend donning this hue in chic separates that won’t break the bank – think trousers, long flowy crepe jackets, blazers and such!

5. Easy does it

There are a couple more simple ways to look classy:

Cinch your waist with slim belts – we couldn’t preach this dictum enough!

Houndstooth! There’s something perennially chic about wearing this print, we haven’t figured out what it is yet, let us know when you do.

Modesty redefined – sport long hemlines in the form of dramatic lightweight layers and of course, ankle grazing maxi dresses!
