Life is better with a drink in your hand. And what is hot weather without a cool drink to sip on. Summers call for loads of parties, celebrations and bbq’s and they’re all incomplete without cocktails, oh how we love them! From the fruity ones, to the ones disguised as milkshakes, to the extra strong ones there’s one (or maybe a couple) for everyone. Here are 7 refreshing cocktails to stir up this season and well, spice up the party.

Rosé Sangria

Who doesn’t love a glass of chilled wine with a tropical punch on a hot day? Rosé Sangrias are the perfect drink to go with a delicious summer brunch.

1 bottle rosé

½ cup brandy

½ cup grand marnier

2 cups soda

2 sliced oranges

2 sliced limes

1 cup of watermelon balls

Half a dozen strawberries

Method – Add all of your fruit to the bottom of the pitcher and bash it up to release all the goodness. Then pour your wine, brandy, grand marnier and soda over the top, stir it all up and put it in the fridge to chill.

Pro Tip: rim your serving glasses with some sugar to make it fancy and top it up with some boozy fruits.

Chi Chi

For all the vodka lovers out there, we have this twist on the classic Pina coladas.

2 oz vodka

4 oz fresh pineapple juice

1 oz coconut cream

Combine all the ingredients with a cup of ice and blend on. Strain it into a tall glass and garnish it with a maraschino cherry.

Pro Tip: add frozen chunks for pineapple for crunch.

Watermelon Coolers

Watermelons are legit a summer staple, they go together like Jay Z and Queen B. And we can’t think of anything better than an uber-refreshing watermelon drink.

12 oz watermelon chunks

2 oz vodka

0.5 oz orange liqueur

Juice of a lime

Puree the watermelon and strain it through a sieve. Add the juice to the rest of the ingredients and add some crushed ice, to make it like a watermelon slushy.

Pro Tip: add a bit of soda for a fizzy touch.

Minty Fresh

Cooling mint, soothing cucumber and a squeeze fresh limejuice. Who said veggies were no fun?

2 oz vodka

1 oz freshly squeezed lime

1 oz agave syrup

3 cucumber slices

Fresh mint sprigs

Muddle up the mint leave, cucumber and the agave syrup in a pitcher. Then go on to adding the vodka and lime juice, and shake it up.

Pro Tip: throw in some flavoured vodka for that extra kick.

A can of ginger beer

A handful of strawberries, raspberries

1 ½ oz tequila

1 ½ oz sour mix
