Here are 7 hacks to make your fave lippie last longer
Perfect shades that last for days…
Ever found your absolutely favourite lipstick colour, only to realise that it only lasted a total of two minutes before wearing off? Well, we’ve got you sorted. Here’s how to make those lipsticks last through straw-filled drinks, bacon-grease brunches, and even fairytale-kisses with a special someone. *wink wink*
Exfoliation is key! Just like you exfoliate your face and body, it's important to keep the dead skin away from your lips too. Make your own DIY lip scrub, or invest in one from your favourite brand to keep those lips soft, plump, and ready for any lip colour.
Baby soft lips
Add a generous coating of chapstick or lip balm for a good ten to fifteen minutes before starting with your lipstick. Let the product soak in and moisturise your lips, then wipe off with a blotting paper to take off any excess. Soft lips = longer lasting lippies!
Conceal, dont feel
You eyeshadow fanatics know what I'm talking about. If you apply a concealer base for your eye makeup looks, then why don't you use one for your lips too? Coat a generous amount of concealer before swatching your lipsticks, and watch that colour last longer than ever before.
Colour inside the lines
For an even stronger base, apply a lip liner to your lips before the lippie itself. You can either use a colour similar to your lipstick, or a nude one instead. This is sure to make your lipstick pop!
All in the layers
Using a defined lip brush for greater precision and control, coat your lips in your first layer of lipstick. Then... Blot away! Yes, we're serious - after all that intense work, we want you to blot out the layer you just applied. That is, before applying your next coat, of course. These layers will help your lipstick last even longer.
Translucent powder ain't just for your skin, ladies. Dust some onto your lips through a layer of tissue to seal the colour in, and then apply your second coat of lipstick. Now you're good to go!
