Contrary to popular belief that less make-up means better skin, lockdown has not been kind to my skin. I haven’t put any make up on since the start of this lockdown (March, yes it’s been that long!) and still constantly break out, have redness and dry, patchy skin at different stages. I have reached out for my ride or die products, tried many a home remedies and spent hours researching local beauty products and brands, hoping to invest in better skin and achieve that elusive ‘quarantine glow’ (Maybe she’s born with it, maybe its a filter?). After all this, I believe I have managed to find products that work for me and some I cannot wait to try!
So here are 8 local skincare brands that can help you achieve that ‘quarantine glow’:
Pure by Priyanka ‘Myoho’
I have been using Pure By Priyanka since I chanced upon it over a year ago and their ‘Glow Serum’ has become a staple in my beauty regime. Also give their Onion Oil a go – it’s helped me with hair fall.
Ayca
This local brand combines ayurveda + aromatherapy to make all-natural skincare products. Their White Clay Mask has been my go-to on days my skin needs a little more TLC.
Daughter Earth
Another local brand that makes non-toxic skincare is Daughter Earth. Their Wild Java Plum Ayurvedic Face Mask is one of my favourites and soothes skin to helps with those pesky pimples.
Mamaearth
This brand makes good skincare available to both men and women AND is pocket friendly. I have recently introduced their overnight repair cream into my nighttime skincare regime and have also heard amazing things about their vitamin C serum.
Forest Essentials
A trusted local skincare brand whose products are rooted in the age old tradition of Ayurveda. In love with their Indian Rose Absolute collection, especially the bath and shower oil (it smells divine!)
Brands on my wishlist…
Dot & Key Skincare
This local, cruelty free brand is currently all over my feed and has taken the top spot in my beauty wish list. Currently eye-ing their under-eye hydrating cream (see what I did there :D) and their masks.
Enn’s Closet
Recommended by many, Enn’s Closet, a natural skincare brand aims at harnessing the power of nature to bring us products that are safe, non-toxic, and highly effective. Their ‘About To Glow’ moisturiser, made with ghee and saffron infused water, looks good enough to eat!
Kal Hans Naturals
Vegan skincare brand, Kal Hans Naturals encourages one to be comfortable in their own skin and creates products that enable this. Their Rejuvenation & Repair Night Serum with Rosehip & Pomegranate is touted to be your secret weapon to smoother, younger, glowing skin – I’m sold!
