2018 was a big year. For nothing but all the weddings we saw in Bollywood. One by one, the hottest actors and actresses broke the nation’s heart when they tied the knot and decided to live happily ever after. It all started with Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s surprise nuptials in 2017. From then on, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, all hitched a ride on the couples’ train one after the other.

Sonam Kapoor weds Anand Ahuja
It was a mehendi, a sangeet, wedding a reception for Sonam Kapoor. She picked Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Anamika Khanna and Anuradha Vakil to dress her for her big days. The theme for all her looks were traditional, very different from the offbeat #ootds we spot her in otherwise. And it’s safe to say that she was the epitome of a beautiful Indian bride.
Deepika Padukone weds Ranveer Singh
The running joke on Instagram once Deepika and Ranveer announced their engagement was “what lehenga will Ranveer choose to wear for the wedding”. Au contraire, there was nothing outrageous about Ranveer’s wedding wear as they tied the knot at Lake Como. And Deepika; well she was an absolute knockout. Sabyasachi was the preferred couturier for the duo in Italy but that authentic #DeepVeer craziness showed it’s head at their Mumbai functions. Ranveer’s sister threw them a party and they had another one for their friends in the press. Drama seemed to be the theme for all their outfits because they went from dramatic red veils and bow-ties to glow-in-the-dark accents from your wildest dreams!
In total, we’ve lost count of the number of functions these two hosted to celebrate their nuptials.
Priyanka Chopra weds Nick Jonas
Just when we could take a little break from all the functions, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding celebrations began in Jaipur. PC did it a bit differently, she picked a handful of designers for her half a dozen functions and they varied from Indian design veterans like Abu & Sandeep, Sabyasachi and Falguni & Shane Peacock to international superstars like Ralph Lauren and custom Christian Dior.
We can’t wait to see who ties the knot next and if they’ll be able to top these three stellar weddings!
