Fashion month isn’t over yet! AIFW (formerly WIFW) kicked off yesterday – celebrating its 25th glorious run in fashion, day one saw theatrics and dreamy silhouettes.
Because medicine is the best laughter: Rajesh Pratap Singh played on the famous adage for his opening show at AIFW.
Hospital beds lined up with IV drips and models dressed in nurse-like dainty black and white attires with leather gloves and dresses cinched oh-so-chicly – it felt like a Hitchcock thriller!
Dreamy does it: Payal Singhal is in the mood for a French romance – chantilly lace, delicate floral detailing on flouncy lehengas and pretty silhouettes, perfect for an Indian Cinderella!
Pastels don’t seem to going away anytime soon.
Florals that bite: Pastels for winter, groundbreaking!
Kavita Bhartia started her collection with a slew of pastel hues with gradient florals and closed the show with some baroque detail juxtaposed against black jackets and gowns.
Sneakers with what…?! Anju Modi’s princesses don’t wear glass slippers, but sneakers – they also wear castles as belts on their waists, frozen blues with blacks and top it off with tiaras!
We’re seeing a recurring fairytale theme going on here.
Babushka baby: We saw Russian dolls at JJ Valaya’s ‘Bolshoi Bazaar’ – gorgeously ornate headgear, Indian silhouettes, all of which were a complete feast for our eyes.
Tell us, who’s collection are you aching to see from AIFW’s designer lineup?
