Exhibition at Saatchi Gallery

Later in the year, Chanel will be exhibiting ‘Mademoiselle Privé’ at the Saatchi Gallery. It’s going to be free for all and open on all days of the week. The don’t-miss list: The ‘Bijoux de Diamants’ collection – the only jewellery ever created by Coco Chanel, the photography exhibition with rare clicks of Mademoiselle Chanl’s private apartment, the brand’s haute couture pieces.

Boulevard Chanel

Working on the superlative hype around street style, Chanel re-created a typical Parisian promenade – bricks, mortar, a curb, puddles et al – for their Spring Summer 2015 Ready-to-Wear showcase. Models strolled out in two’s, three’s, chatting amongst themselves –doing what you would catch them doing, at any day outing. And, what is a street without a mob? For the finale, Lagerfield staged a mass demonstration, complete with protest hoardings and slogan shouting.

At this auction, held at Mississippi’s most grand antebellum home, an original oil painting of Coco Chanel, by Andy Warhol, sold at a whopping $247,000 – making it the top sale of the event.
