In case you forgot; Raksha Bandhan is just around the corner! Even though you may not be able to have an elaborate celebration like always, you can still get your hands on the perfect gift for your sisters; and brothers, just in case you are guilted (like I am) into buying prezzies for the boys as well!
If you haven’t watched Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham at least once in your life, I don’t think we can be friends. As a girl who has watched it twice EVERY YEAR for the last ten years, I know this movie inside out. Even small details like which ‘Kabhi’ has an extra ‘e’ in the title –
The Devil Wears Prada – the Holy Grail of fashion movies. Even though the movie released 14 years ago (14 years – that’s insane), the impact it has had on every person whether in the fashion industry or not is incalculable. The combination of the fashion, which was somehow trendy and classic at the same time with the powerhouse performances of Meryl Streep,
Even though I am technically an adult (as my parents keep reminding me), I have never related to anything more than Calvin and Hobbes right now. The child in me feels seen and heard and very validated with all the emotions I am feeling. If you’re anything like me and have felt varied forms of happiness,
It’s been over two months since we have all been in lockdown. In the initial few weeks, I was reminiscing about trips I had taken with my family and friends in the past – sipping bubbly on the pristine beaches of Bali with my sister, hiking the Wineglass Bay in Tasmania with friends or the many summer picnics at Prospect Park in New York.
These are unprecedented times and every day is different. While on some days we get a fresh burst of inspiration and energy, other days can be overwhelming. And as daunting as all this can be, it’s the baby steps that we take in looking after ourselves, our business and our wellness that will help in creating that strong foundation for the future.
Raise your hand if you are desperately missing your girlfriends right now. A virtual chat doesn’t even come close to the hours we’ve spent hanging out with our girls; it’s true we never run out of things to talk about.
From missing lectures together in college, to the first heartbreak, through weddings and babies and work successes and failures,
Lockdown for me has been equal parts therapeutic and equal parts absolutely bonkers. Some days I’m a ray of sunshine – literally, I’m wearing my happiest colours, humming as I make the bed and really treating my abs to a good thirty minutes of heavy crunching. But on other days I’m burning rice, giving my husband the silent treatment and generally wondering what I did in my past life to deserve these series of unfortunate events.
Having lived in Mumbai my whole life, and having complained about the city as much, it took a lockdown for me to appreciate this place that I’ve called home for 34 years. Weekends spent debating with friends about the best restaurant to go to (hoping we’d get a table) to weekdays spent in commute and complaining about the crazy traffic,
It’s been over a month and counting and working from your office seems like a distant dream right about now. Hah, look at us, dreaming about heading back to work – to the chair that now has your imprint on it, to your “organised-mess” of a desk, to those colleagues you were used to seeing every working day of your life.
We love celebrities and by association their pets. If you think about it, that sentence could work vice versa too! Here are some pets to make you go “aww” this week:

Music used to be my escape; eventually however, I could predict the next song on the radio and my morning moods weren’t consistent enough for my Spotify’s Discover Weekly, podcasts became an almost natural replacement.
Much like how podcasts turned my 45-minute drives to work from a dreary hell to an intellectual haven, they have saved me from my mind’s uncontrolled thoughts during lockdown’s quiet.
