Here is what went down at Amazon India Fashion Week on Day 4.
Ikai by Ragini Ahuja fused leather, denim and handloom fabrics with signature lines and silouettes. We especially loved the denim Lucky Strike jacket and the cigarette stick embroidery. Ikai’s line consisted of pencil skirts, longline jackets, leather bralets, denim skirts and jackets and T shirts dresses.
Eka
Keeping true to the soul of the label, we were presented with easy silhouttes, light and breezy fabrics and neutral tones with the occasional splash of reds and blues. Paperbag waisted trouses, shirts, and kurtas in stripes and gingham print dominated the runway.
11:11
Signature hues of indigos, soft pinks, and reds were seen a plenty at the 11:11 show. Half jackets, layered shirts with skirts and culottes, maintaining the the fluidity and asymmetry were seen on the ramp. Bandhni made an appearance and of course the colours were natural dye. Not to miss were the cardboard shoes and hats!
Gauri and Nainika
With unmissable Victorian influences, Gauri and Nainika showed flowy silhouettes, ruffles, billowing sleeves in soft pastels, greys and beiges in gorgeous silk and organza fabrics.
Malini Ramani
A totally 70s influenced collection boasted of deconstructed sarees, jumpsuits and heavily sequinned gowns.
Pero
Possibly the most adorable show ever, the whole ramp turned in to a pajama party! Models relaxed on nine beds strewn across the ramp in cropped tops, boxers and striped pajamas with lace trimmings. Peros’s signature checks and stripes. The palette was predominantly white and blue. Pero presented beautiful baby doll dresses, trenches, relaxed cropped trousers and shorts in chanderi, khadi and linen.
Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna
An ode to the fierce, independent 21st century women, the show was set against the familiar backdrop of New York city. Colours seen were greys, whites blacks with splashes of oranges, reds and sea greens. Sheer overlays, striped trousers, wrap tunic jackets and lots of intricate threadwork were seen on the runway. Athiya Shetty was the show stopper in a beautiful silver gown.
