Holi moly! Up your beauty game during the festival of colours
Bright colours don’t have to mean dull skin, hair, and nails!
While we have fun with all the rang and pichkaris this Holi season, let’s not forget that our skin, hair, and nails require some tender loving care. Protect and pamper yourself so that you make great memories that last a lifetime, instead of ending up with acne, burns, or scars that last forever instead. Check out StyleCracker’s tried and trusted tips below!
Follow this pre-festival beauty routine to make sure you’re armed and beautiful for Holi!
Plan ahead! Don’t go to the salon a week before or after Holi weekend. Treatments like waxing, threading, and bleaching leave your skin dry and prone to break-outs, and Holi colours only make these after-effects worse.
Treat yo’self Apply a rich body oil all over an hour before you head out. This will help your skin retain moisture and create a barrier against the colour’s toxins while you’re partying. And don’t forget the sunscreen either!
Moisture, moisture, moisture! Just like with your skin, oil your hair up real good too, for all the same reasons. This will make it easier to wash any colour out of your hair as well.
Bananas for bandanas 90s trends are back with a bang, so pulling out your good ol’ childhood bandana on Holi day may be both a protective and stylish idea! Tie your hair up in the bandana and rest easy that your hair is shielded from the sun’s harsh rays and any colour.
Cut away We know, we know – you spent an entire 4 months growing out your nails to perfection. But those long nails are going to end up caked in colour and dirt from the day’s festivities, so it’s best to put those nail clippers to use.
Polish your pretties Painting your nails can prevent them from discolouration and protect against any harmful chemicals in the colour. You can even use bright and vibrant nail polishes to get in the festive mood!
From moisturizers to dry shampoo, these products are just what you need this season.
ARGAN OIL OF MOROCCO
For a clarifying wash after all those fun Holi activities, use the Argan Oil of Morocco range.
A small tube of sanitizer can go a long way! Carry one around just in case.
MILK ULTRA LIGHT FACE MOISTURISER
On Holi day, a heavy moisturizer may feel sticky and uncomfortable. So stick to a lighter one instead!
MILK ULTRA LIGHT MOISTURISER
If oiling yourself up is not quite your thing, use a light lotion to make sure you're still protected and moisturised throughout the day.
ANATOMICALS LIP BALM
Many of us may not know this, but the sun's rays can be just as harsh to our lips as it is to our skin. So using a lip balm while you're out in the sun is always a good idea!
ANATOMICALS FACE MASK
After washing your face nice and clean, you may feel like your skin is stripped of moisture (especially after spending all day caked in colour). Help layer the moisture back into your pores with a face mask!
ANATOMICALS BODY SCRUB
When showering after Holi, it may be difficult to scrub away the dirt, oil, and colour effectively. That's where this body scrub comes in! It helps wash away all the nasty stuff, while retaining your skin's moisture.
ANATOMICALS BODY LOTION
After a deep cleanse, your skin can feel dry and rough. For a burst of moisture, slather on a heavy - and wonderfully scented - lotion to soothe your skin.
If you're heading out to lunch after playing dry holi (and you've followed our bandana tip), a great way to freshen up your hair is with dry shampoo!
