Keep Your Skin Supple This Winter!

The harsh winters affect our skin more than we care to admit. The cold winds turn skin extremely dry and dehydrated. Here’s your guide to combating the dryness and make your skin hydrated, moisturised and supple!

Your winter skin care routine should include cleansing-toning-moisturising everyday, exfoliating twice a week, and hydrating face masks twice or thrice a week (depending on your skin type). Here are a couple of scrubs that will leave your skin smooth and supple.

Oatmeal Scrub – Mix together a cup of oatmeal and the same amount ground almonds in a bowl and add a little bit of milk to make a paste (make sure the paste is not too runny). Add a few drops of almond oil and exfoliate with this mixture to give your skin the supple glow it needs.

Strawberry and Cream Scrub – Blend a few strawberries together to make a thick puree. Add a tablespoonful fresh cream (or you can use malai) to the strawberry puree. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar to the paste to make the most wonderful smelling, super-moisturising body and face scrub.

Also try these hydrating face masks, 2 – 3 times a week, for a glowing, soft skin.

Banana and Honey Mask – Mash a ripe banana and add a tablespoon honey to make a smooth, lump-free paste. Apply all over face and neck for about 20 – 30 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.

Besan Face Mask – Add a pinch of turmeric to a teaspoon of besan (gram flour). Make a thick paste by adding a little honey and olive oil to the mix. Apply this on the face for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water.

Egg White Mask – Take a whisked egg white and blend well with one tablespoon curd/yogurt. Add a few drops of coconut oil and keep on face for 20-25 minutes.

These winter skin care tips will help your skin survive the cold and harsh climate, but only if you don’t forget to hydrate!
