Smart, concise and super-light!
Sweat, curse and pack like a minimalist! No more heavy luggage, excessive airline fees and the stress of over-packing- while you’re up and about, know that less is more. Here’s the packing-checklist for your ultimate fashion travel!
BASIC HAND-RULES
Embrace the Pareto Principle: 20% of what you pack should equal to 80% of what you wear!
Opt for clothes that you wear over-and-over: You find them super-comfortable and will save your day in almost every situation.
Pack for a week: A week of clothes are easy to visualise and plus, you clearly don't want to be doing your laundry!
RESTRICT THE COLOUR WHEEL
Blues and
greys! Prepare a flexible closet in a basic colour scheme- maximise your outfits with plain simple combinations. Maybe carry a stand-out piece, but only if its that hard to resist.
Colours to Pack: Blues, greys and occasional prints.
THE RIGHT BAG
Carry-on style! Your smart travel bag is dark, somber and simple. A small rolling suitcase with stiff rectangular sides is the essential you clearly need- they’re big enough for a nice, neat fold and stock sufficient amounts.
Bags to Buy: Garment Bag,
weekender/duffel bag.
LIGHTEN THE SHOE GAME
Not more than two! Wear the bulkier pair and pack the other. As for your socks, opt for safer versions- they might come in handy during your impromptu workout sessions!
Shoes to Carry: Flats, boat shoes, espadrilles.
SIMPLER BOTTOMS
Grey bottoms- your go-to item! Pair with a
dress shirt for your formal occasions or keep it casual by hopping on a light jacket. Opt for anything that has proven its comfort!
Bottoms to Carry: Anything grey and blue.
VERSATILE TOPS
No matter what, a dress shirt is vital! Pack no more than four and opt for
t-shirts more. Throw in some tops with minuscule chest pockets, store your bills and miscellaneous items while on the move!
Tops to Throw In: White, grey and black t-shirts, including a dress shirt.
FABRICS
Keep the linens home! Think wool and cotton, rather then jeans- but a pair of versatile, comfy
denims wouldn't do much harm.
Fabrics to Invest In: Performance fabrics, wool (keeps you warm in winters and cool in the summers).
