It’s 8 days to the SC Borough, where you can shop the best labels at the most affordable prices. As a way to keep ourselves from spontaneously combusting with excitement, we have been counting down to 15th November by asking the talented Borough designers the same number of questions as there are days left to the ultimate shopping fest. And so we asked Sonali Pamnani, whose label Meraki will be at the Borough, exactly 8 questions!
What is the best advice you ever received in terms style and fashion, and by whom?
Sonali: “Fashion you can buy, but style you possess. The key to style is learning who you are, which takes years. There’s no how-to road map to style. Its about self expression and, above all, attitude”
– Iris Apfel, American businesswoman, interior designer, and my all time favorite fashion icon.
If your brand was a person, what would her/his style be like?
Sonali: The Meraki Woman is quirky meets classy-chic. She is individualistic, stays true to her roots. Prefers no-fuss clothing, smart detailing and Indian textiles made modern.
What is the colour palette of the season?
Sonali: Blacks, Denim blue, Grays and Maroon.
This season’s Buy, Store & Throw, according to you.
Sonali: Buy – Palazzos
Store – Jackets, Wrap dresses
Throw – Crop tops
3 things you are completely obsessed with.
Sonali: Suhani Pittie jewellery, Maxi dresses, and funky jackets!
Among the current talent, what labels would we find in your wardrobe?
Sonali: Injiri and Suhani Pittie
If the world is ending tomorrow, what would you wear to the doomsday party tonight?
Sonali: My “I’m too sexy and I know it” boxers from Dirty Laundry with an oversized T-shirt.
Who’s your current celebrity crush?
Rahul Khanna!
