On 8th November, 2014 Mumbai witnessed for the first time ever, a deep house open air smack in the heart of the city with a view to die for. An amazing success from start to the end, By The Pier brought Regenerate to the forefront of music festivals. Before the summer hits us full force, Regenerate is back with an encore.
Hello “By The Pier 2.0“, we’ve been waiting for you! The team at Regenerate is back with an awesome and much anticipated second edition of the event, scheduled to take place on the 21st February 2015.
StyleCracker is totally pumped to be a part of the music and arts festival – styling three DJs. It promises to be a spectacularly fun experience. Before the epic event begins, we’d like to introduce to you the three super cool DJs we styled.

December 2011, Sheesha sky lounge, Mumbai was the start of this beautiful journey. I was invited by a friend to play a Tech House DJ set for their event at this venue located in Andheri, Mumbai after they spotted me playing at a friend’s private party.
Who is your favourite artist of all time?
Many names come to my mind now 🙂
Which artist do you find the most stylish?
To be honest, all artistes like to keep it really simple, but when Kevin Knapp played at The Pier last year, I really digged his gangsta look with his hat and towel placed around his back 😉
What is your go-to outfit?
Jeans/Shorts, T-shirt.
Describe your personal style in not more than 5 words –
Comfortable, Ethnic touch, Handlooms.
What are you found doing, when not making or playing music?
When not playing music, you will mostly find me painting, doing some yoga, singing or planning a getaway.
At parties, what can one find you drinking?
Juice or water most of the times, sometimes a glass of red wine.
Which music festival (around the globe) would you want to play in?
I cannot think of just one festival… I want to play at all the possible celebrations/festivals happening across the globe where music is spreading some joy.
How would you describe the music scene in Mumbai?
It’s rapidly growing and that’s good to see. It’s so good to see more and more people coming out to listen to electronic music now and trying to understand and accept what every artiste has to offer and share.
On a scale of 1-5 how lucky do you think you are, and why?
On a scale of 1-5, I would say I’m a 5! Looking back at almost everything that I am blessed with in this life right now, I can only be thankful.

My first paid gig was at Prive in Mumbai, in 2004. Our sound was so underground then, no one had a clue.

That’s a hard question to answer. Maybe Nirvana, it never gets old. Electronically – can’t say, way too many.

Nina Kraviz, Mike Jagger yeahh…
What is your go-to outfit?
Plain, extremely comfortable tee, plus sized preferably. Black jeans and sneakers.

It’s like my mind. Haha! Well – aesthetically inclined, chic, and free spirited.
What are you found doing, when not making or playing music?
Making ART, writing, drama, creation…Information! Ohh, I love Information…you’ll find around a lot of books.
At parties, what can one find you drinking?
Water…or wine if you’re lucky!
Which music festival (around the globe) would you want to play in?
Dakmental in Amsterdam… Always a serious line up!
How would you describe the music scene in Mumbai?
It’s like a teenager hitting puberty!
On a scale of 1-5 how lucky do you think you are, and why?
5! In India the electronic scene is the biggest music scene after Bollywood. No one cares about the other genres as much. Which puts India on the map now and you can see it blooming!

I’ve done way too many wild things in my life. That’s the reason why I stick to water at a party nowadays. Well in the future….maybe, I don’t know. Fly a rocket to the moon and throw a party – galactic style…Haha. The Pier might close, so don’t miss it for the world!

My first gig was a private one at The Daily which was a sundowner with a great vibe. First line up gig was at The Sitara Studios and that is when I was like, damn this is gonna be fun!

Rodriguez Jr, Mihai Popoviciu, Bonobo, Maya Jane Coles and a few more!

Hot Since 82.

T shirts, jeans and a good pair of shoes.

Any outdoor festival in Europe.
How would you describe the music scene in Mumbai?
I really like the music scene in Mumbai. Such amazing artistes have been brought down by Regenerate and other booking agencies. The only bummer is the deadline.
On a scale of 1-5 how lucky do you think you are, and why?
5!! Getting such opportunities to play for your friends and like-minded people is just fantastic.
