Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Gabriella Demetriades’ label DEME at The SC Pod, our pop-up at Olive Bar & Kitchen, Mahalaxmi.
SC is a fan of DEME’s structured, well-tailored, uber-stylish designs that are all things contemporary chic! We especially love the draped pieces.
Here’s how our conversation with the talented stylist-turned-model-turned-designer went.
SC: At what point in your modelling career did you decide to become a fashion designer?
Wonderfully exciting things are happening over at StyleCracker’s daily pop up – the SC Pod at Olive Bar & Kitchen, Mahalaxmi.
Right from the time when it was first launched two months back, the SC Pod has been a huge hit among Olive’s regular patrons. Seems like the city’s fashionable have embraced the idea of indulging in some retail therapy while they wait for their food.
House Of Chic, started by Jinali Sutariya and Heena Surani is a multi-designer pop up store that launched in Los Angeles in 2012. Since then, they have curated pop up stores in major fashion capitals of the world, working with high end designers and taking Indian fashion to the global markets.

Kichu Dandiya takes as minimalistic an approach with words as she does with her designs. The young jewelry designer keeps it simple and straight as she talks to us about her earthy, urbane collection, on display at the SC Pod at Olive Bar & Kitchen for one last day.
SC – What is the inspiration behind your range?
We at StyleCracker are always on the lookout for young talented designers with off-beat, unorthodox collections. And we found just that in Jaipur based designer Ruchi Jain and her label Crazyheart. Her clothing line is a well balanced, wonderful mix of craft, bohemian and edgy.

Crazyheart is a Jaipur-based concept brand for women’s clothing and artwork. Designed by NIFT Mumbai graduate Ruchi Jain, this collection features bold and edgy designs. Punk, Boho, Gypsy and Glam all rolled into one, Crazyheart is a patron of unapologetic style.
