Last Friday, 11th July 2014, Tarun Tahiliani launched the sixth edition of Tarun Tahiliani Bridal and Couture Exposition at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai in partnership with World Gold Council – Tarun Tahiliani for Azva, Forevermark, Swarovski and Diageo – Johnnie Walker Platinum Label 18. The collection, named the “Modern Mughals”, is a perfect fusion of Indian craftsmanship with the fit, finish and functionality of western clothing.
The couture range for men features gold, pistachio and deep oranges as primary shades and the linings are luxurious, with Mughal motifs in digital print.
There was also a range of Ready-To-Wear garments for bridal and special occasions, with raw silk lehengas and anarkalis. Intricate aari work, zardozi and gotta patti are just a few of the impeccable crafts featured in this collection.
Tarun Tahiliani also collaborated with Savile Row’s Whitcomb & Shaftesbury and created a range of bespoke sherwanis, Indianizing the Savile Row fine tailoring experience. Classic tuxes and bandhgalas in super fine cashmere and the finest of satins provide subtle yet established elegance.
