East met west – from faux body tattoos to gorgeous hair accessories, fashion’s frontrunners had China on their mind when played dress up for the Met Gala, Monday night and left us swooning for hours.
Hair-raising tales
Beyoncé revived risqué at the red carpet with her diaphanous gown, flaunting her assets with much flair. Northward, her hair was telling a tale of its own, chic-ly tied up real high at the crown – almost reminiscent of the I dream of Jeannie ponytail! It’s rather obvious why Queen Bey gains the number one spot here.
The hairstylists to the stars seemed to have gone all out with their imagination when it came to dressing their tresses – case-in-point, Selena Gomez! With a crown of white orchids to complement her matching gown, Selena shone like a star with a winning combination of red lipstick to go with.
Diane Kruger jumped on the floral trail too with her side-swept waves and fresh flowers pinned at the back – gorgeous Indian bride hair inspiration right here ladies!
Georgia May Jagger looked chic with her retro curls and floral clip to go with her geisha-esque wrap dress.
Young and vibrant – we think Zendaya can do no wrong these days, gaining gazes with her a warrior princess attire and medallion-like headband making her appear regal yet chic!
We can’t help but agree with Kate Hudson’s stylist every time she’s dressed in a gold ensemble – shining bright as ever; this ageless beauty had her tresses wound up in a messy bun with a bejewelled floral chain draped ever-so-elegantly to the side of her mane.
Dark romance
Nothing says Geisha like some scarlet red lips and black feline flicks on the peepers!
As seen on Behati Prinsloo: What’s not to love about a great exaggerated cat eye?
It’s no secret that we’re constantly crushing on Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s chiseled cheekbones and well groomed brows. But, this time around we’re certainly bewitched by her dark make-up adorned with kissable burgundy lips, bronzed cheeks and sheer wash of aubergine eyeshadow.
Shanghai-chic: Cara Delevingne translated the Chinese theme with her cherry blossom-inspired faux body ink telling their own story leading from her arms, to her décolletage and back.
Jennifer Lopez proves that age is simply a number with her dare to bare ensemble and glistening glow on her face. We love how her ruby eyeshadow almost merges with her sun-kissed cheeks in the best way possible.
