‘Sonya for Vemb’ aims at providing luxury garments with quality fabrics, classic embroidery and contemporary designs. Designer Sonya’s collaboration with brand Vemb came into being in 2013 when young and promising Sonya started her work for the brand. The label promises a smorgasbord of craftsmanship and unique designs. With Vemb Lifestyle’s years of experience to draw from and Sonya’s ineffable designs, this label is set to take the fashion world by storm.

Here’s what the talented designer had to say when we spoke to her.

SC: What was your inspiration for this collection?

Sonya: The rain! Mumbai’s monsoon carries on for three months and stylish rainwear is something that can totally brighten up your day!

SC: Describe your own style in a word.

Sonya: Innovative

SC: Your favourite piece from your latest collection and why?

Sonya: My latest pret line is inspired by my diving trip wherein I have made prints of the movement of the water. A strapless maxi in an underwater print with chains on the bustier would be one of my favourite pieces from the collection.

SC: 3 summer trends that, according to you, are must-haves this season?

Sonya: Shorts, printed and brightly coloured, a jumpsuit/playsuit and a cotton summer kaftan- dress.

The StyleCracker Pod is open starting from 11th June 2014 at Olive Bar & Kitchen, Amateur Riders Club, Mahalaxmi Race Course, Mahalaxmi.

Hope to see you there!
