“Once a year, go someplace you haven’t been!”– Dalai Lama
We StyleCracker girls are wanderers who love to travel and explore new places. Take a look at SC’s senior stylist Tia Paranjape’s experience of an amazing trip to the beautiful Puducherry.
It had been on my list of must-visit places for a while, and all I can say is, it was definitely worth the wait. Quite the ideal location for a ‘girl’s trip’ Puducherry is quaint, quiet and unabashedly charming. We stayed at a place that according to me can only be described as ‘Narnia’, fondly known as ‘Wunderhaus’. This 6 room, home-stay added immensely to our little adventure.
Here are my 5 most memorable experiences that will take Puducherry to the top of every wanderer’s travel wish list!
Surfing at Serenity Beach
Honestly, when I first signed up for this, I thought I would just amuse myself but what-an-experience!
Where: Kalliyalay Surf School

Wunderhaus Breakfasts
From local delicacies to French breakfast treats, waking up at Wunderhaus was a vacation in itself! The host prepares a meal for his guests every morning! How enchanting is that?

The French Quarter
Cobbled streets, quaint French architecture, signature mustard and white paint washes and al-fresco cafes, make the French Quarter a dreamer’s paradise. Walk through the tiny avenues and discover something new at every corner.

The Auroville Bakery
I would live in this bakery, if they allowed me to! The butter and chocolate croissant, the banana nut cake, the butter biscuits, the lush lemon cake… I could go on and on and on! If you visit Pondi, you cannot not, swing by the Auroville Bakery.

Tanto’s Pizza
Highly recommended by the locals, Tanto’s Pizzeria left us speechless! It’s probably the BEST pizza I have eaten- ever! Again, a hidden gem in the heart of Auroville.

Roadtrip- Chennai to Puducherry
The drive to Puducherry was simply stunning! A quick tip; plan your trip such that you catch the sunset while en route.
Best time to visit would be November-February , the weather is simply amazing and the people are just so warm and welcoming.
