What to wear to Fashion Week!

Lakme Fashion week is here again! We’re excited to see what our favourite designers have in store for us. If you’re attending fashion week and confused about what to wear, here are a few suggestions put together by our personal stylists!

1) Neoprene

Neoprene is the fabric of the moment! We’d love to see more of it at Fashion Week. Take a cue from fashion blogger Jessica Stein (Tuula Vintage) who styles a blue Neoprene pencil skirt with a high neck black top and black cut out heels.

Wondering where you can find Neoprene in Mumbai? Worry no more, Forever 21’s got you covered. For a feminine yet bold look, team with an off-shoulder crop top, gold hoop earrings, a box clutch and black tie up heels. Buy the Neoprene Skater skirt here (Also available in grey)

2) Denim

Denim never really goes out of fashion. Although Fashion Week is about new trends, don’t hesitate to strut around in your favourite wardrobe staples. Here are a few ways to wear denim.

Denim shorts

Denim shorts: Team with a loose tee and your favourite branded belt. Throw on some layered necklaces and finish the look with a pair of boots! A vest is optional.

Model Off Duty

Jeans: Fold them up so your shoes get all the attention! Pair with a crop top, floppy hat, sunglasses and a sling.

Tie Dyed Shirt Street Style

Denim on denim: Mix light and dark shades. Add a pop of colour by pairing with orange pointed heels.

3) A printed kimono

Kimono

Ditch the usual cardigan or blazer for a cool printed kimono. The loose/ super light fabric is airy and perfect for hot days! It keeps you protected from the sun without adding that extra weight of another layer. It works well for cool rainy nights, too. Shop Kimonos here

Here’s a tip on how to style it for fashion week:
